uGroup today announces the retirement ofRichard Taffinder, who concludes an extraordinary 45-year career with the numberplateindustry. In addition to stepping down from his operational responsibilities,Mr. Taffinder will also exit as a shareholder in Erich Utsch GmbH.

Richard Taffinder’s journey within the industryis truly exceptional. Beginning his career as a workshop assistant, Richard rosethrough the ranks to become Managing Director of Hills Numberplates Ltd (UK),and a Director of Faab Fabricauto (France). Over more than four decades, he hasplayed a pivotal role in shaping the businesses and driving key innovationswithin the numberplate industry.

Throughout his tenure, Mr. Taffinder hasbeen recognized for his deep operational expertise, entrepreneurial mindset,and unwavering commitment to excellence. His contributions have left a lastingmark on Hills’ and later uGroup’s development and international footprint.

Mr. Taffinder has decided to retire tofocus on his private life and pursue new interests, including investmentsbeyond the numberplate industry.
